Zagłębie Lubin is the club that won its first Polish championship on June 15, 1991. On the 35th anniversary of this event, we spoke with Marian Putyra, the coach who led the team to this historic success. Putyra, being the youngest coach, won the gold medal of the Polish championships, which forever became part of the club's history. His journey with Zagłębie Lubin began in 1986 when he moved from Wrocław and started working with youth. Soon, he became the assistant coach of the first team. In the 1987/1988 season, the club was relegated to the second league, but Putyra continued to work with young players, which bore fruit in the form of promotion. In 1989, Zagłębie Lubin finished third in Poland, and many young players he trained moved up to the first team. In 1991, after returning to the top league, Zagłębie Lubin achieved the runner-up position, which was a significant achievement for a newly promoted team. Putyra also recalls the debut in the cups and the challenges he faced in his coaching career.
